Announcing New Life

Announcing New Life

When parents welcome a new baby into their family, it is the most amazing part of their lives. They just can't wait to let the world know about their newborn and celebrate this once in a lifetime event with their friends and loved ones via birth announcements. Help them do it in a fun, creative and cute way! If you can use Adobe Photoshop, you can do this and make good money while enjoying it.
You could charge around ten dollars per altered photo. Offer several sizes, but a minimum size of 4x6 would likely be appropriate. Encourage the parents to submit several photos, so that you can create a selection of background options to provide them. They will pay for each photo that they would like to keep. (It's hard for proud new parents to say 'no' to ANY photo of their special little person so there is a good chance they will purchase them all.)

The customer will need to provide you with a clear photo of their infant and you would use your photo altering software to digitally create a fun environment around the infant's image. Using the personalized image that you have created for them, the customer can create their own birth announcement using a local photo developing shop. Most grocery store photo developers even offer this service for a small fee and using your altered photograph will make such announcements both affordable and memorable. Often parents like to use these same images for thank you cards, stationary, T-shirts, and personalized postage stamps!

You could offer the new parents a wide range of theme backgrounds for their new little bundle of joy. A few minutes of creative thinking would provide you with many more ideas, but here are a few to get you started:

- The newborn in a bird's nest and surrounded by eggs

- The newborn in a cloth sling being carried in a stork's mouth

- The newborn sleeping on a large flower, Anne Geddes style

- The newborn wearing a funny animal costume, complete with bunny ears or bear ears and a stuffed animal body covering its torso

- Their new little one holding a bunch of balloons and drifting into the sky and surrounded by clouds

- Techy parents would love a scene of their newborn sitting in front of a computer screen and typing on a keyboard

- Their own little newborn artist, covered in a smock, propped in front of a canvas and clutching a handful of paintbrushes

- Have the baby flying its own little plane with a banner flying out behind it

- Seat the baby in it's very own little director's chair with a movie clapper and bullhorn handy

- Surround them by a fishing scene complete with fishing pole and bucket of bait

- Create a background resembling a sports trading card with birth information in the place of score averages

The options really are endless. Use your imagination and offer the new parents something new and creative. No one likes to be boring. People will want to create a birth announcement that will help share the excitement of their new little one and that will proudly adorn the fridges and note boards of their friends and family.

Market your creative service to hospitals, doctors' offices, day-care centers, preschools, playgroups, local photo labs, toy stores, baby product stores, and by all means, you will certainly want to maintain an online presence with a website to display samples of your work and pricing structures.
