Popcorn On The Cob

Popcorn on the Cob

Eating is a pastime most people enjoy; whatever the occasion, whatever the season; people are always ready to eat. People not only like fast foods and multi-cuisine, there are snacks that people like and appreciate; more so in fairs and circuses. So providing some snacks to people in fairs and circuses proves to be a great business, and one worth adapting.

Instead of offering the normal snacks like hot dogs, chips and burgers, try something novel like popcorn on the cob. Of course, popcorn is often eaten buttered, sweetened, salted, cheesed, and other popular flavors added. But, why not offer something else; like popcorn on the cob. This is a great idea from the past; people will be willing to try it out, in curiosity, to find out what it is like.

It was many ages back that Native Americans popped and ate popcorn on the cob - and it was eaten directly from the cob. This is a wonderful taste; you could add some butter, salt, pepper, chili powder, lime; the choice is limitless to offer your customers a little something extra with their popcorn on the cob.

Of course, you cannot offer popcorn on the cob wherever you want; offer it in open public places, as you have to cook the corn on a stove or charcoal pit. You do not need a huge investment for this venture; it is best to have a charcoal pit; as the taste is better this way and it is cheaper to prepare it. If this is not possible, then of course you will need a stove or other medium to fry the corn directly on the cob. There is no need to have any dishes; you can have paper plates to give your customers their corn on the cob. Then of course, you need some spices to add to the corn to enhance the taste too.

Because corn is a nutritious, fragrant, and tasty food, most people love eating it. It provides the necessary fiber a person needs, and is nutritious too. Moreover, eating popcorn on the cob provides a measure of exercise to the jaws and teeth. In fact, people with false or weak teeth should not eat popcorn on the cob, as it may be rather difficult for them to eat!

Unlike other businesses, there is no need of any marketing or advertisement for this job. This opportunity flourishes through word of mouth, smell, and sight. There is bound to be many curious onlookers and others following their noses to the wonderful fragrance of the corn popping. You could print a few pamphlets, and place them in strategic places of the fair or circus, so that people visiting these amusements will be aware of your stall and unusual item to offer.

Maintain the best hygiene and cleanliness in your business. As this is an open-air business, if you do not offer clean surroundings, you will only lose customers. Make sure you place your stall in a clean area too, where there are not many insects or pests to disturb you.

Be prepared to be a very popular stand no matter where you set up. The wonderful fragrance of the corn cooking will draw people to you!
